Capacity Building Programme
DPS Bhopal hosted a two day training session for TGT Mathematics teachers conducted by Centre of Excellence Bhopal, under the aegis of CBSE on 15th and 16th December 2023. Around 40 teachers from various schools in and around Bhopal attended the programme. The Resource Persons for the programme were Ms Bharti Sharma and Ms Bina Prakash. Ms Bharti Sharma is the Principal of Sharda Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School, Sehore.
She is also the CBSE City Coordinator of District Sehore in MP & MP CBSE Training Coordinator for Sehore and Rajgarh Districts, (Secretary of Sahodaya Group of CBSE Schools Bhopal, District Secretary of GOAL Society, CBSE Master Trainer for Classroom Management, Joyful Mathematics, Health and Wellness Programme.
The second Resource Person, Ms Bina Prakash, is a Senior PGT at Campion School Bhopal & the Honorary District Director of N.C.T.S. (Unit of Rama Science & Technology Foundation) and Honorary State Director of APJ Abdul Kalam Council for Young Scientists. (Unit of Raman Science & Technology Foundation). She is the School Innovation Ambassador(Ministry of Education, Innovation Cell) Member of NAS (National Achievement Survey, Ministry of Education) for preparing learning outcomes for Secondary level Mathematics And Trainer of newly inducted State Board Secondary School teachers.
The programme aimed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to face multiple challenges be it personal or organizational, effectively and efficiently.
In her welcome address, Madam principal, Mrs Vinita Malik emphasized on the workshop’s role as a pivotal platform for professional development, fostering a culture of perpetual learning among educators.
During the two day workshop, the resource persons covered various important aspects of teaching and learning Mathematics. The workshop had commendable brainstorming sessions exploring Geogebra software and an elaborate hands on practice guided by Ms Bina Prakash.
Topics like: creating interesting assignments, Maths teaching methodology, question paper setting and multiple other assessments were also discussed by the esteemed Resource persons.
Overall, it was an enriching experience for all the participants.
ENRICHMENT FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF DPS BHOPAL THROUGH AFS ONLINE SESSIONS
The students and teachers of Delhi Public School Bhopal attended a series of Online Sessions conducted by AFS Intercultural Programs India. The virtual sessions during Pathway to Global Classrooms for Educators aimed at equipping educators with intercultural learning skills which inturn would help them to prepare students to live in diverse societies. The Virtual Effect Plus Workshop for Students of classes IX and X aimed to offer teenagers a first contact with intercultural learning and global citizenship education. Dipsites participated enthusiastically in it and submitted detailed assignments based on the workshop. The workshop which focused on being change makers of the society for better global community was very interesting and informative for the students and teachers.
